The Digital Cowboy 



Bergamo is a medieval town perched on a mountainside near Milan. Visitors take an electric tram up to the old city. Locals have some way of getting autos up there.

Sforza Castle is home to several museums. It houses Michelangelo’s Pieta Rondanini. The work wasn’t completed before the Master’s death. April 2002

The Duomo

This rather unremarkable building, the Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie 2 houses the work of another Renaissance Master. Restoration work had just been completed when Schiffman was fortunate to see it in April 2002. No photographs are permitted, perhaps to support the nearby gift shop.

Leonardo da Vincis fresco, the "Last Supper" is every bit as inspiring and breath-taking as one could imagine.



The columns surrounding The Vatican’s St. Peter’s Square, not a square at all, are arranged so if you stand on the disk, as Schiffman is, the columns align to appear as one. August 2004
