Segovia Spain is about an hour’s drive from Madrid. 500 and 1800 years ago it was a day’s travel, or longer. When part of the Roman Empire and later, the town was a stop on an important trade route, and of strategic importance throughout the centuries.

Cordova Spain is another old city desirable to conquerors as they moved through the country and history. Cordova may be best known to Americans for leather goods.
